Additional financing to Road Rehabilitation Maintenance Project (RRMP) მუშაობს ზამბია.
The development objective of the proposed project would be to reinstate key river crossings damaged by flooding during the last rainy seasons to pre-emergency levels of service.
The affected river crossings are mostly found on rural and unpaved roads. The identified damage includes reinstatement (repair, rehabilitation or replacement depending on the extent of the damage) of washed-away bridges and culverts and the repair and upgrading of ferry crossings. Proposals to upgrade several river crossings, in areas where seasonal flooding creates constant hardship for the local communities, are also included.
The project components will be designed to support both the implementation of the current reform and the financing of critically needed investments.
(i) Institutional Reform: Support the establishment of the RDA by internalizing bridge management. This component will support the funding of several posts managing and maintaining bridge infrastructure.
(ii) Technical Assistance to improve bridge and culvert management and maintenance.
(iii) River Crossing Upgrading and Rehabilitation: Assistance with the reinstatement of pre-emergency levels of service at the key river crossings damaged during the past rainy seasons
