The Judicial Reform Project for Georgia is to assist in the development of an independent and professional judiciary committed to high standards of judicial ethics and capable of efficient, effective dispute resolution. The project supports key interventions to assist in establishing the judiciary as an independent third branch of government. There are six main components. The first, court administration provides technical assistance for case management and court administration procedures and implementation, computerizes appellate courts and district courts and provides personal computer packages for each of 75 courts, and funds audio equipment. The second component funds civil works, rebuilding court infrastructure including training facilities. The third and fourth components provide technical assistance and equipment for enforcing court judgments and for drafting legislation. The fifth component sponsors study tours and training.
