The objective of the project is to help Tbilisi Water Supply and Sanitation Utility (TWSU) to become better managed as a financially autonomous and sustainable institution capable of providing good quality water and basic environmental sanitation services to the population living in the capital city of Georgia. This objective will be reached using the Lease Contract to be signed with the private operator-company selected under the competitive bidding process. Currently this process is near completion. Commencement of implementation of the Lease Contract is planned for the end of year 2003
