Strategic Partnership for Development (SPD) მუშაობს ავღანეთი.
Strategic Partnership for Development (SPD) is an Afghan non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political organization established by senior Afghan development policy specialists and practitioners. The organization is mandated by its Board of Directors to undertake priority reconstruction and development activities in Afghanistan by targeting the most vulnerable and marginalized population of Afghanistan.
SPD has recently been awarded a contract by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for preparation of Thematic/Background Papers for the Third Afghanistan National Human Development Report (ANHDR-3). The ANHDR-3 is tentatively titled ‘Water Security and Human Development in a Stabilizing Society. The preparation of ANHDR-3 is led by the Center for Policy and Human Development (CPHD), a project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in collaboration with Kabul University.
The ANHDR-3, will analyze the link between water and human development. Among a set of relevant issues, it will focus on causes and consequences of water scarcity and crisis; the availability of water resources for agriculture and drinking purposes, water as root factor in poverty and conflict, the socio-economic impacts of drought, and water sharing issues at regional and community levels.
Furthermore, to fill-in the research gaps identified by the CPHD core team preparing the ANHDR-3, SPD is currently commissioning a series papers to explore in-depth a range of conceptual, institutional and policy issues on various topics related to the core theme of the Report.
